The purpose of this project is the application of the “holistic energy chain” approach, by examining and applying processes that produce/distribute “clean” raw materials. It is also the generation of energy and energy carriers using these raw materials, by applying selected pilot facilities and using them in realistic environments.

The project of supplying and installating a gantry crane is under implementation. The agreement with the contractor has been signed, who was selected afted a negotiation procedure. He has been given the plans and the license, and has began the necessary preparations. The projects' timetable states that it will completed by December the 29th. Possible delays may occur due to unfavorable weather conditions, that may disrupt the construction work.
Yesterday, July 13, the file to obtain the planning permission for the buildings of the KRIPIS project was successfully submitted to the authorities. It was consisted of the architectural plans for the new facilities of all the Institutes that participate to the project (CPERI, ITI, HIT, INAB). The application number was obtained and on July 17th the application will be reviewed by the Engineer's Commitee. After its approval, the file is due to the second and last stage of the planning permission issue.
The architectural plan for INAB's experimental greenhouse was completed. It will assist the research of plant and microorganisms, especially mining data from their genetic structure, and the derived products.
The new architectural plan for the Smart Energy House was completed, as was suggested by the KRIPIS project. Images of the house and the surrounding space are shown below.
